Five people on LiveChat's cheapest current plan pay $95 a month for seats on annual billing. Give them 300 AI resolutions a month and the bill is $392. Move the same five to the plan that includes 200 resolutions and it is $494. That is the shape of LiveChat pricing in 2026, and it is not the shape most pricing guides describe, because LiveChat's own pricing page now sells new trials as Text plans.
This guide prices both lineups for teams of 3, 5 and 10: the current Text plans, and the legacy LiveChat plans that existing customers are still on. Every number comes from the vendors' own pages, checked October 21, 2026, in US dollars before tax, and every sum is shown. We make Talvo, a competing product, so it gets one short section near the end. For the wider field, see our LiveChat alternatives guide.
Two price lists, one company
LiveChat is made by Text, Inc. Its pricing page, titled "Text Live Chat Pricing," says that pricing for new trials now lives there, as Text plans. The same Essential and Growth plans appear on livechat.com/pricing and text.com/pricing. ChatBot.com and HelpDesk.com have also stopped selling their own plans to new buyers and now sell the same Text Essential and Growth.
People who already pay for LiveChat are on a different list. It is still published at livechat.com/pricing-legacy, with Starter, Team, Business and Enterprise. New buyers can't self-serve those plans; the cards say "Request a call."
If you're reading this because a quote or invoice doesn't match what you've seen elsewhere, that's usually why. There are two lists, and some third-party guides quote a third one that matches neither.
The Text plans in one table
Text bills per user. The FAQ is blunt about it: "every user who logs in to answer chats or tickets needs a seat." There is no minimum team size and no fixed user cap on the two self-serve plans, and you can add or remove users any time. Plan changes take effect on your next billing cycle.
| Essential | Growth | |
|---|---|---|
| Price per user, annual billing | $19 | $79 |
| Price per user, monthly billing | $25 | $99 |
| AI resolutions included a month (per account) | 10 | 200 |
| Extra AI resolutions | 50 for $49.50 | 50 for $49.50 |
| AI agents | 1 | 10 |
| Conversation and file history | 60 days | Unlimited |
| Teams | 1 | 10 |
| Chat routing rules and working hours | No | Yes |
| Shared canned responses, supervision, takeover | No | Yes |
| Workflow rules (executions a month) | 3 (300) | 10 (1,000) |
| Proactive campaigns (impressions) | 3 (1,000) | 30 (10,000) |
| Included API calls a month | 10,000 | 20,000 |
| Reply suggestions per user a month | 5 | 50 |
Enterprise is custom-priced and adds a white-label widget, audit logs, custom SSO and SLAs. The trial is 14 days on Essential or Growth with no card, and the page shows no free plan. Annual billing saves "about 24%" on Essential and "about 20%" on Growth, which matches $19 against $25 and $79 against $99.
Both plans include the same core channels. The pricing page says that in every plan, website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS and email land in the same inbox, and that the AI agent answers WhatsApp messages the way it answers website chats. Some Marketplace apps carry their own fees, so check any third-party app you rely on.
The jump between the plans is the number to remember. Growth is about four times Essential per seat on annual billing ($79 against $19), and for that you get 190 more included AI resolutions, unlimited history, routing, working hours and supervision.
What 3, 5 and 10 people pay on Text plans
AI usage changes the answer more than headcount does, so we priced three volumes: 50, 300 and 1,000 AI resolutions a month. Extra resolutions are sold in packs of 50 for $49.50 (about $0.99 each), and we rounded up to whole packs. Allowances are per account, not per seat: the FAQ says "Teams, workflow rules, campaigns, and API calls are per account, so adding people does not shrink anyone's allowance." Their own example agrees. Ten users on Growth pay $790 a month on annual billing, including 200 AI resolutions, and if you need 350, three extra packs cost $148.50.
Annual billing:
| Team and AI volume | Essential | Growth |
|---|---|---|
| 3 users, 50 resolutions | 3 × $19 = $57, plus 1 pack ($49.50) = $106.50 | 3 × $79 = $237 |
| 3 users, 300 | $57 plus 6 packs ($297) = $354 | $237 plus 2 packs ($99) = $336 |
| 3 users, 1,000 | $57 plus 20 packs ($990) = $1,047 | $237 plus 16 packs ($792) = $1,029 |
| 5 users, 50 | 5 × $19 = $95, plus 1 pack = $144.50 | 5 × $79 = $395 |
| 5 users, 300 | $95 plus 6 packs = $392 | $395 plus 2 packs = $494 |
| 5 users, 1,000 | $95 plus 20 packs = $1,085 | $395 plus 16 packs = $1,187 |
| 10 users, 50 | 10 × $19 = $190, plus 1 pack = $239.50 | 10 × $79 = $790 |
| 10 users, 300 | $190 plus 6 packs = $487 | $790 plus 2 packs = $889 |
| 10 users, 1,000 | $190 plus 20 packs = $1,180 | $790 plus 16 packs = $1,582 |
Monthly billing:
| Team and AI volume | Essential | Growth |
|---|---|---|
| 3 users, 50 resolutions | 3 × $25 = $75, plus 1 pack = $124.50 | 3 × $99 = $297 |
| 3 users, 300 | $75 plus 6 packs = $372 | $297 plus 2 packs = $396 |
| 3 users, 1,000 | $75 plus 20 packs = $1,065 | $297 plus 16 packs = $1,089 |
| 5 users, 50 | 5 × $25 = $125, plus 1 pack = $174.50 | 5 × $99 = $495 |
| 5 users, 300 | $125 plus 6 packs = $422 | $495 plus 2 packs = $594 |
| 5 users, 1,000 | $125 plus 20 packs = $1,115 | $495 plus 16 packs = $1,287 |
| 10 users, 50 | 10 × $25 = $250, plus 1 pack = $299.50 | 10 × $99 = $990 |
| 10 users, 300 | $250 plus 6 packs = $547 | $990 plus 2 packs = $1,089 |
| 10 users, 1,000 | $250 plus 20 packs = $1,240 | $990 plus 16 packs = $1,782 |
A few readings of the tables. Growth only beats Essential on price for a 3-person team, and only when AI volume is high enough that Essential's packs cost more than Growth's seat premium. That happens on annual billing at 300 and 1,000 resolutions, and not at all on monthly billing in these scenarios. For 5 and 10 people, Essential is cheaper in every cell, because the seat premium ($300 a month for five people on annual billing) is larger than the most the extra 190 included resolutions can save ($198 a month, four packs).
We haven't included tax, Marketplace app fees or Enterprise. If your own volume sits somewhere in between, the formula is simple: seats, plus packs of 50 for everything past the allowance.
What an AI resolution is, and the packs
The AI agent is on every plan, but only the allowance is free. The livechat.com pricing page puts the unit simply: "One resolution = the AI directly solved a customer question. Multiple questions in the same chat still count as one." The fuller wording on text.com is "A resolution is counted when the AI Agent provides an answer that directly solves at least one customer question," charged once per conversation.
If the AI transfers a conversation to a human without answering, that doesn't count. Answers that don't solve anything, irrelevant answers, test chats and spam don't count either. That is a fair definition, and close to how Talvo and most other vendors count. Our AI resolution pricing comparison lines up all the definitions.
The catch is the refill. The text.com FAQ says that if you exceed your limit, "a refill package of 50 resolutions is automatically added" for $49.50. Nobody has to approve it, which is convenient until a busy month adds six of them. Allowances reset monthly. One more oddity: another FAQ answer on the same page says "We don't charge per ticket or per resolution," which contradicts the per-resolution billing described above. We priced from the per-resolution FAQ and the pack line on the plan cards.

The AI Copilot (agent assist) has its own small allowances per user: 5 reply suggestions and 5 AI text edits a month on Essential, 50 and 100 on Growth. We found no separately priced Copilot add-on on the page.
Legacy LiveChat plans, and what changed in April
Existing customers aren't on Essential and Growth. They're on the plans below, which the legacy pricing page still lists.
| Legacy plan | Annual, per user | Monthly, per user | What the card says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $19 | $25 | 1 user, 100 visitors tracked, 1 recurring campaign, 60-day history |
| Team | $49 | $59 | Unlimited users, 400 visitors, unlimited history, basic reporting |
| Business | $79 | $89 | 1,000 visitors, work scheduler, staffing prediction, advanced reporting, SMS and Apple Messages for Business |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | SSO, HIPAA compliance, white label, SLAs |
Starter is a single-seat plan, so a team of 3 or more starts at Team. Seats only, that is:
| 3 users | 5 users | 10 users | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team, annual | 3 × $49 = $147 | $245 | $490 |
| Team, monthly | 3 × $59 = $177 | $295 | $590 |
| Business, annual | 3 × $79 = $237 | $395 | $790 |
| Business, monthly | 3 × $89 = $267 | $445 | $890 |
Those are list prices on the legacy page. They may not be what you pay, for the reason in the next paragraphs.
The move-to-Text terms
LiveChat's move-to-Text page is addressed to existing customers. It says "Moving to Text doesn't change your subscription price," and that most accounts get 200 AI resolutions a month at their current price, with extra packs of 50 at $49.50. You get an email when you reach 90% of your allowance. The newer features "are part of Text and come with Text plans, not with LiveChat plans, including legacy LiveChat subscriptions." In other words, the way to get the AI is to move. Setup takes a few minutes, with no downtime, and you can test both side by side. The page also warns that some LiveChat integrations don't work in Text, and some license configurations need an individual review.
So a legacy 5-person Team account on annual billing, moved to Text at its current price, would be $245 for seats, and with 300 resolutions a month it would add 2 packs ($99) beyond the 200 included: $344. We say "would" because "most accounts" isn't "all accounts," and we can't see yours.
The reported 20% increase
Here is the part to treat as reported, not confirmed. Polish business site Bankier.pl wrote on April 7, 2026, citing coverage by news agency PAP Biznes of remarks from the head of investor relations at Text S.A., that the end of price grandfathering for existing LiveChat customers was key to the company's operating results. According to that report, new prices for existing customers took effect at the start of April 2026, following an increase for new customers in late September (most likely 2025). The average increase was reportedly about 20%, varying by plan. Customers who were already on Text, and those on annual contracts running past 2026, were reportedly not affected, and the company expects 2027 to be a year of migration to Text. A Quartr AI summary of the July 22, 2026 investor presentation says much the same.
Text's own pricing pages say nothing about it. So the careful reading is that the legacy price list is published, existing customers were reportedly repriced from April, and your invoice is the only source that settles it. Check your billing page, and ask your account rep when a renewal date is near.
What else sits on the bill
Seat counts do most of the work, but a few other limits matter.
Essential keeps conversation and file history for 60 days, allows one team and lacks routing rules, working hours, shared canned responses and agent reports. The reports on Essential cover chat metrics, ticket metrics, the visitor funnel and the AI Agent sales report; agent activity and performance reports start on Growth. Storage is 2 GB plus 50 MB per user on Essential and 15 GB plus 100 MB per user on Growth. Multilingual widget support (48 languages) is Growth and up, and a white-label widget is Enterprise only.
On the other side, every plan includes multiple websites, the web app and desktop apps for macOS and Windows, an MCP server, Google, Apple or Microsoft sign-in with 2FA, 24/7 support and a live Shopify catalog. Text says it is SOC 2 Type 2 audited, and lists HIPAA as coming soon.
- Count everyone who will log in, because each person needs a seat
- Estimate your AI-answered chats a month, then count packs of 50 past the allowance
- Decide whether you need more than 60 days of history, routing or working hours
- Check whether any integration you rely on works in Text, if you're moving
- If you're an existing customer, compare your last invoice with the legacy page
Is it worth it at your size?
For one to three people with light AI use, Essential is fine. Seats are $25 or less, and 60 days of history is enough for most small teams. Pay attention only if the AI starts answering more than a few dozen chats a month, because each pack of 50 costs about as much as two Essential seats.
For five to ten people, the per-user model begins to dominate. Growth for ten people on annual billing is $790 before a single extra resolution, which is the number to hold against any alternative. If your team is mostly there for the history, supervision tools and routing, it can be worth it. If you were hoping the AI would carry the load, run the 300 and 1,000 rows above against your real chat volume first. Our piece on per-seat versus flat pricing explains when each model wins.
LiveChat is a mature, chat-first product with SMS, WhatsApp and Messenger in the inbox and a SOC 2 Type 2 claim, and none of that is cheap to replace. We say where it wins in Talvo vs LiveChat.
- WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS and email in one inbox on every plan
- SOC 2 Type 2 audit claimed on the pricing page, with Shopify catalog and desktop apps
- Allowances are per account, so extra seats don't shrink anyone's AI allowance
- Growth adds unlimited history, routing, working hours and supervision
- Per-seat pricing, with Growth at $79 to $99 a user
- Extra AI resolutions are $0.99 each and refill automatically in packs of 50
- Essential has 60 days of history, one team and no routing or working hours
- Existing customers were reportedly repriced in April 2026
What the same teams pay on Talvo
Talvo prices per workspace. We priced each scenario on the cheapest plan with enough teammate seats (Starter has 5, Growth 15, Scale 25), as plan price plus $0.49 for every resolution past the included 100, 500 or 2,000. We counted the same AI volumes as Talvo resolutions, since the two definitions are close.
| Team and AI volume | Annual billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| 3 or 5 users, 50 | Starter $39 | Starter $49 |
| 3 or 5 users, 300 | Growth $119 (500 included) | Starter $49 plus 200 × $0.49 ($98) = $147 |
| 3 or 5 users, 1,000 | Scale $249 (2,000 included) | Scale $299 |
| 10 users, 50 | Growth $119 | Growth $149 |
| 10 users, 300 | Growth $119 | Growth $149 |
| 10 users, 1,000 | Scale $249 | Scale $299 |
The pattern is the reverse of LiveChat's: the bill follows the AI, not the headcount. A 5-person team at 300 resolutions is $119 a month on annual billing against $392 on Text Essential. Talvo also puts shared canned responses, business hours and a hosted help center on every plan, where Text puts shared canned responses and working hours on Growth.

The gaps are real. Talvo launched in 2026, is in beta and has no reviews on G2 or Capterra. It has no WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, Messenger or phone, no Shopify integration, no SOC 2 report, SAML SSO or HIPAA, and its widget carries "Powered by Talvo" with no way to remove it. Integrations today are the REST API, webhooks and Slack. Past conversations from LiveChat can't be imported.

If you'd rather run your own numbers, our free support cost calculator does it with your team size and volume, and Talvo's pricing page has the plan details.
Frequently asked questions
Is LiveChat now called Text?
Not exactly. LiveChat is made by Text, Inc., and the LiveChat pricing page, titled Text Live Chat Pricing, now sells new trials as Text plans. The same Essential and Growth plans appear on livechat.com and text.com. LiveChat accounts still exist, and legacy LiveChat plans are still published for existing customers.
Will existing LiveChat customers' prices change?
LiveChat's move-to-Text page says moving to Text doesn't change your subscription price. Separately, a Bankier.pl report from April 7, 2026, citing PAP Biznes coverage of Text's investor relations head, says existing customers were repriced from April 2026 by about 20% on average. Text's own pricing pages don't mention it, so check your invoice.
How much does LiveChat cost per agent?
On Text plans, Essential is $19 per user a month with annual billing or $25 monthly, and Growth is $79 annual or $99 monthly. Enterprise is custom. The legacy plans for existing customers are Starter at $19 (one user), Team at $49 and Business at $79 per user on annual billing, or $25, $59 and $89 monthly.
What's the difference between LiveChat Team and Text Growth?
Legacy Team is $49 per user annual with unlimited users, unlimited history and basic reporting, and it doesn't include the Text AI features. Text Growth is $79 per user annual and includes 200 AI resolutions a month per account, 10 AI agents, routing rules, working hours, shared canned responses and supervision. Moving a legacy account to Text is said to keep its price.
What is an AI resolution in Text, and what does it cost?
A resolution is counted when the AI Agent gives an answer that directly solves at least one customer question, once per conversation. Handing off without answering doesn't count, and neither do test chats or spam. Beyond your allowance, a refill of 50 resolutions is added automatically for $49.50, about $0.99 each.
How many AI resolutions are included?
Essential includes 10 a month and Growth includes 200 a month, and the allowance is per account, not per seat. Ten Growth users on annual billing pay $790 a month including 200 resolutions. Most existing LiveChat accounts that move to Text get 200 a month at their current price.
Is there a free LiveChat plan?
The pricing page shows no free plan. Essential and Growth each come with a 14-day trial and no credit card is needed. Legacy and Text plans are paid per user, and there is no minimum team size.
Does LiveChat charge for inactive agents?
The pricing FAQ says every user who logs in to answer chats or tickets needs a seat, and that you can add or remove users at any time, with plan changes taking effect on the next billing cycle. We found no discount for idle seats, so remove users you no longer need rather than leaving them on the plan.
